Aw, thanks Tom!

It was a quick response and so I’m glad it came across as careful — I almost didn’t post it because I don’t like doing quick, non-careful posts. But it felt important.

I also hope it doesn’t come across as an attack on the writer, because I could really feel the places where she was being careful (especially with the correlational bit) and I’m betting she didn’t choose her own headline, and a lot of the reaction the post is getting has to do with the headline I think.

But I just saw so many parents engaging with the article and having deep worries, and I just don’t think we’re anywhere near knowing what the negative and positive effects might be, never mind how individual differences and context play their usual roles…
